Ramada by Wyndham Newark Hotel
The Manufacturer & EET deployed CryoGenX4 and validated savings in 2022.
The two 6-year-old 12.5-ton York demo RTUs were chosen by the hotel ownership based on highest
heat load and most consistent runtime. The detailed baseline and post readings were taken when
temperatures were hovering around 85°F.
All the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) averaged from both RTUs are listed in the table below
power usage and compressor runtime over 12 days during the baseline. The same data was collected for 12 more days in the post period (this followed the minimum of 3 days after installation when the ECM was doing most of its work). The two sets of data were then compared when loads in the respective areas of the Hotel were similar. These hours and hours of information yielded the results below. Full comparison data file available on request.
When comparing the combined reduction in compressor runtime hours and compressor amps, the resulting 16.6% improvement per RTU works to corroborate the very similar 14.9% average improvement in kW/ton efficiency generated by the multiple IPMVP tests and the 17.7% improvement in average COP.
Here's how this savings compares to other hotels validated (and over a thousand other machines validated, which is the average by age curve in green below):
