For nearly 120 years, Goodwill has been the leading workforce provider in North America, helping individuals empower themselves with the skills and job support services they need and want to thrive.
Goodwill Industries operates multiple retail outlets around the country, and the Baltimore, Washington, DC and Virginia stores needed help with saving energy while improving the environment of about 50 of its retail stores through three groups.
Energy Efficient Technologies was called in to help. Our first step was to install a utility grade meter to measure electricity usage in regard to the lighting, and the savings LED can produce recorded in real time, shown below. The drop in the graph below is energy usage while our team was installing, instantly proving savings from LED.
Our team went to work in about 40 locations and started to replace all lighting with thousands of LED’s. Using 5000K LED lights and drivers we were able to produce twice the amount of light output and a drop in electricity usage. This project changing from T8 lighting to LED saves 57% of electricity every year for the next 11 years.
Each store’s atmosphere improved, appeared cleaner, and increased sales thanks to the brighter light produced by LEDs. The merchandise was easier to see and looked more appealing to customers.
In addition EET validated the savings associated with CryoGenX4 to reduce costs of HVAC.

Testimonials from the clients:
If you have any potential clients who are “on the fence” regarding your energy saving technologies, give them my name and number and I’ll be happy to talk to them. I’ve been very pleased with the savings, the financing, and with what your team accomplished!
